Advanced Sidebar
Adds Lucide icons, custom groups, and custom nav links to the Payload admin sidebar without rewriting your collection config.
Installation
pnpm add payload-advanced-sidebar About
Payload Advanced Sidebar replaces the default admin navigation component with its own `NavWithGroups` component. It reads the `admin.group` value you already set on collections and globals, so you can attach icons to those groups and to individual collections or globals by slug. Icons are Lucide React icon names passed as strings, such as `'ShoppingCart'`. The plugin also accepts a `navLinks` array. Each entry has a label, a path, an optional icon, and an optional group. A path can point to an external URL or to a custom view under the admin route, and a link whose group does not exist yet creates a new sidebar group. Labels can be a string or a record keyed by locale. The plugin is registered as a standard Payload config function and works with Payload 3.84 and later. Options are `enabled` (default `true`), which turns the plugin off without removing it from the config, and `animations` (default `true`), which controls the expand and collapse transitions on sidebar groups. The plugin only changes the sidebar. It does not add collections, fields, hooks, or endpoints, and it does not change how items are ordered beyond what the group mapping and nav links specify.
