Info Tooltip

About

This plugin changes where field help appears in the Payload admin. By default, it reads `admin.custom.infoTooltip` on any field and renders the text as a tooltip on an info icon next to the label. The value can be a string, a locale object, or a function `({ t, i18n }) => string`. Functions run on the server per request in the admin UI language, so they never reach the browser. Nothing changes until a field sets `infoTooltip` or the plugin option is turned on. With `useDescriptions: true`, every `admin.description` becomes the tooltip and disappears from under the field. The description stays in the config, so `generate:types` still copies it into the generated JSDoc. A field can opt out with `infoTooltip: false`. Custom `Description` components and tab descriptions are not converted, because Payload renders tab titles without a label slot. The plugin also walks fields inside Lexical editors (link fields, blocks, inline blocks, and nested editors) without changes to the `lexicalEditor` calls. The `showInListView` option adds the icon to list-view column headings, and `focusable` controls whether each icon takes a tab stop. For fields with a custom label, the package exports `LabelWithInfo` and `InfoTooltip` from `/client`, plus a `labelComponent` option that returns a replacement label per field. Fields that set `admin.components.Label` get no icon unless the custom label renders `LabelWithInfo`. The plugin throws at startup if a function is passed as `infoTooltip` to `LabelWithInfo`, because the browser would receive it. The package needs an importmap regeneration after install and lists Payload 3.90.2 and 4.0 betas as tested versions.
